is it uncommon to have a wild canadian goose try to join your flock? does it pit you at legal risks, and will it leave this spring? i live down south, and they come here from up north every year!

Many Canada geese are raised in close proximity to humans and have no fear. A young bird separated from it's flock may very well join a farm flock. As long as you are not enclosing it in an escape free pen there should be no problems. A lone goose may or may not leave in the spring. If it pair bonds to a domestic, it will most likely stay.
