Anyone know what fish & game permit you have to have to keep not domestic geese like Nenes & canadian geese in California? If not, anyone know a forum to redirect me to? Or do you not need the permit if they were acquired from a legal breeder/properly marked as long as you don't sell them because I also read that.

The fastest way you are going to find out the correct information is by contacting the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Every state has its own regulations. It is best to go directly to those in charge.

In the case of migratory waterfowl you also need to know the Federal regulations because they are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty.
