Wild goose integrating with domestics?

I have a wild goose who has been around a few days and seems to think it is part of my domestic 2 goose herd? Anyone ever have this happen?

He/she isn't causing any problems and can fly great so its not sick or wounded. Half the size of my domestic girls and they don’t hesitate to chase it out of their immediate space but still hanging out?

Perhaps a young bird inadvertently separated from its flock or perhaps a 'human raised' bird that somehow got lost. Your geese are beautiful.

Looks like one of the smaller species of Canada Geese, commonly called "Cacklers". Interesting that it is hanging out with your girls. When the snow geese migrate through the area in the late winter/early spring, my American Buffs completely ignore, and are ignored by the hundreds of geese grazing in the neighbor's pasture.

In all likelihood there will probably be no problem. There is the chance (unlikely) of exposure to an avian illness. She/he will most probably migrate away at some point in the future. If not check with your local wild life agent just to make sure you don't need some sort of permit to house/care for wild Canadian geese. In the meantime just enjoy.
