Hey there, this is probably a really silly question and I think I already know the answer but since I'm an overly cautious chicken mom, I figured I would ask anyway. I have a ton of wild oats growing in my yard, however they aren't in the chicken run area. Can I give my chickens some? Should I only give them the oat part or can I pick a bunch with grass shoots attached and let them scratch, peck, tear it up to their hearts content? :/

Put it all in and let them eat what they want. They may not eat the leaves and stems when they dry, but they will definitely eat the seeds

Thanks for the input! I gave them some, they were freshly picked not dry yet. They were all enjoying scrtaching them up and pecking at them but my fayoumi was sitting down there munching grass stems that she banged around to break up while all of the others had decided to get feed from the feeder. Lol
