I was looking out into the poultry yard today, when I saw a turkey hanging out with my birds! I do not live in a rural area (in fact, I don't think I am suppos to have roos, but the neighbors love them). Why is this turkey hen hanging out? Is she lonley? Just looking for some extra grain? Born in the wrong body?? Can her poo carry disease or parasites? She was not actually in the fenced area, but walking around and around the outside.

My siste rin TN said there are always wild turkeys coming to see her chickens. Not uncommon for her to look out and see several.

One of my Barred Rocks has a peculiar vocalism that announces she is going to be shortly laying an egg. They all make a fuss, but this particular one makes a sound just like a turkey hen. When the toms are out in the hayfield behind our house, they will call to her if she makes her egg laying noises.
