Edit: I’ll let her know to contact game services and to not touch wild turkey nest in her yard again. Thanks 🙏

A friend found an abandoned nest and incubated the eggs. She was able to hatch 2. Idk when she incubated them or when they hatched. So I was wondering how old are they and if they’re boys or girls.
It is illegal to take possession of wild turkey eggs, incubate them and keep them.

It is highly unlikely that the nest was abandoned.

A reminder...

Wild turkeys are protected and managed under state and federal laws that vary by location. While hunting is permitted under specific regulations, it is illegal to harm, kill, or destroy their nests and eggs without a proper permit or license.

Any thread or post about possessing, capturing, rescuing, or treating protected birds, parts of protected birds, or the eggs of protected birds will be closed and/or posts deleted.

Thank you for your understanding.
