I have a broody Silkie setting on some eggs. I did a staggered hatch with her and took the one chick she hatched out last week. We should have some chicks hatching this weekend.

We started off with five eggs for this hatch due this weekend. One disappeared last week or so. Last night I snuck out to candle the four remaining eggs and saw one was totally empty but I forgot to grab it when I left. I just checked on her today and that eggs was missing (or at least I hope it was that egg!). I searched and then found some smashed egg pieces in the coop.

So I guess she pushed it out? Is that possible? I haven't seen her move from the nesting box since she went broody. I started giving her food and water in there so she wouldn't starve!
