I moved our six week old pekin ducks to our pond yesterday. They've since moved in, and refuse to go back to the coop... but that's a whole other issue. This morning I noticed a large dead catfish floating in the area that they've taken up residence in, near the cattails and reeds. Is it okay to leave it in there, or should I remove and dispose of it? I really don't want to have to deal with a bloated, smelly fish if I don't have to - but I certainly will if it poses a health risk to my duckies.

I'd remove it botulism is very harmful to ducks.

Thanks, MissLydia! It probably sounded like a pretty stupid question, but I'm still learning

The fish has been removed. I can't be sure, but I think one of my ducks quacked, 'thank you!'

Not a stupid question at all. See even the ducks are thankful
