will a hawk attempt to try to kill my chicken with me present?

So I have 12 chickens, and every other day I let them roam out of their big kennel so they can roam around my house and yard. But I noticed there had been a lot of hawks circling above my house a lot recently, and every time my chickens are out roaming, I yell a the hawk in the air and it gets spooked and flies away. I am just wondering will it even try to get one of my chickens if I am present in the yard or something, does it have the guts to kill a chicken even if I am 100 feet away from the chicken?

I do not think so. A hawk has never tried to go near my chickens while I was outside.

Not usually. If the hawk is particularly hungry or brave, though, it might.

Yeah that is true, I will continue to keep a sharp eye on my chickens like I have always done
