Will a heat blanket and/or lamp work?

So my silkie is hatching some babies for me. The last day before they hatch, or when they start pipping, can I take them away and put them on a heat blanket or under a heat lamp? I wanted to let the momma hen just raise them on her own, but I'm afraid my other hens will hurt the babies. I can't really separate the momma hen because I don't have anything to put her in. What should I do? Any suggestions?

I had a broody last summer that raised a hatch with the other hens and they did fine. The other birds left her alone. The broody did a good job of letting others know that they shouldn't mess with the chicks. If you have a smaller coop it might be a different story.
