Will a hen pluck her belly and then not go broody?

I have a just-under-a-year-old (hatchery) Wesummer that has quite a bare belly and it has been that way for a couple of weeks. She isn't sitting on a nest except to lay and seems otherwise fine and not acting broody. I checked for mites. Her belly skin looks fine-not red, inflamed or anything.
Thoughts?

When my chickens were having a difficult time getting to their perches, they had feathers rub off of their bellies because they were spending too much time lying on the ground. That's about all I can suggest, though.

Maybe she went broody and then quit shortly after? I had one go broody and not peck her feathers off until after a week or so, then I had another on go broody and I saw her feathers all around that same day.

Maybe-didn't see her on the nest-or maybe she's getting ready to or maybe thats as far as she's gonna go.Don't want her to be broody just wondering why she's running around half naked!
