I have bantam cochin roos and they are wonderful little guys. I have never had a rooster of any breed kill another roo. Your friend may be thinking of a particular breed or of personal experience (anecdotal) with bantam roos. It is then possible that what he observed may have been due to a particularly fiesty strain with agressive behaviour that had not been bred out - personality is highly heritable. Most chickens regardless of breed are relatively docile and can co-exist with others of thier own sex as long as you have enough space and hen to roo ratio.
