Is it common for a bird, Chukar in specific, to lay down on the ground with his head on the ground occasionally? I have noticed my male Chukar doing this once yesterday and once today. Just a minute ago when he was doing it, he continued laying there until I got really close, and then he stood up. Hes not sitting, hes actually laying it appears, just like my rabbits or dog would do on a nice day. Just wondering if this is normal or could this possibly mean theres something wrong with him? Other than that, he seems to be acting normal for the most part. I have attached 2 pictures to show you what hes doing. Sorry I couldn't get a picture closer up.
