Will clotrimazole hurt my hen if it's dry skin or some other issue instead of favus?

I have a hen that her earlobes were peeling pretty bad and she was peeling around her face and neck area. I have read several threads on here about favus and I couldn't really find an answer. Some of the stuff I've read says that with favus their skin will peel around the head and neck area. So I went and bought some lotrimin with clotrimazole in it. If its not favus and just dry skin or if its stress related or some other cause, will it hurt her to go ahead and treat her for it to be on the safe side? She doesn't have any powdery looking stuff anywhere on her head or neck. She did have a few tiny black spots but they went away when I started the lotramin. Thanks in advance for any advice

Most people don't see side effects from clotrimazole skin use, but peeling and itching are the rare side effects. I've used it on a chicken's comb without problems. However, favus is usually white patches. Dry skin can be treated with coconut oil. If she drinks more water she might not be so dry, so maybe an extra water station could help.

Thanks Eggcessive! I just wasn't sure. She has plenty of water though, i'm having to keep her in the house right now because she got mauled by a coyote. I was just worried. I didn't want to hurt her by using the clotrimazole if favus wasn't what she had. Dry skin kinda makes more since though. I just noticed Sunday that her earlobes and around her face and neck were really peeling pretty bad, when I looked it up favus is all I could come up with so Monday morning I got some Lotramin and started doctoring her up. She was also scratching at her head a lot before that. Since I've been using the clotramazole she's not scratching at her head any more. It just didn't look like what I read favus should look like, but when I pulled in up online peeling earlobes and neck was mentioned. Anyway, thanks for the reply.
