Will constant access to pellet food make my geese obese?

Greetings!

I have two 10 week old Roman tufted who live on 1/8th acre fenced orchard/pasture. I have finally finished the medicated chicken feed for my chickens and now have set down the feeder so that the geese and chickens can both eat from it. Before this, I would only feed the geese Flock Raiser(19-20% protein) at night, a cereal bowl full between them. They ate grass and dandelions during the day. I am worried that they will engorge themselves on the pellets since they have free access to it now.

Has anyone had issues with obese geese?

Geese are not ones to over scrounge feed, for the most part, they prefer greens/grass to pelleted or crumbled type feed. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Great, I was just wondering a similar thing as I transition my birds out of their brooder and to their permanent outside living arrangement. They absolutely love their pellets and they're usually all gone when I get home, despite having a whole gardens worth of grass to munch on - i'm certain they're eating the grass but I don't know if they prefer it because i'm not home to watch them eat.
