Will cracked corn do in place of grit?

Thank you, I'll look into getting them grit since I barely laid down tarps in their pen and they can no longer peck at the ground. I was doing some yard work and found lots of broken shards of glass out there hence the reason for laying down tarps.
Question: do I have a bowl of grit available to them all throughout the day or only during meal time?

Just have it available at all times, then they can eat when necessary.

With the situation you have described, and what you are feeding them, I would also provide actual grit in a separate bowl.

I leave grit out at all times. My ducks take very little. I buy mine online, at chewy.com or Amazon, but I have seen it at farm stores and hardware stores.
