I REALLY want scovies ( and am getting eggs soon ) but im just a little worried. I have a wild drake scovie that likes to hang arround my ducks - even goes into their enclosure. If I get scovies will that drake attempt to mate mine? Will the wild drake fight with my drake?

They will probably fight, the winner gets his choice of the ladies. the wild drake will be bigger and meaner and is almost bound to win the fight. Keep the babies out of reach of the wild drake until fully grown. The wild one will fight the drakes and may injure or kill the females in mating attempts.

The feral drake is probably already breeding your ducks. If you are wanting to breed pure, you're going to have to pen up your breeders or simply rehome that feral drake after a wing clipping.

From what I understand, Muscovy drakes are a little more possessive over their girls than the average drake. I've heard that Muscovy drakes will run all the other drakes off the pond because they prefer to run one male to a flock of females. Now, whether this is true or not, I don't know it's simply soemthing a Muscovy breeder told me.

He hasnt fought any of my current drake ( they arent scovies of course) . And I dont think he has been breeding. Usuall he sits a little way off and if anyone gets close he pute his mohawk up and hisses a little. He used to come with another drake and a female but this year its just him.
