Will eggs from a cold coop hatch OK?

The interior of my coop runs as low as 32 degrees this time of year. We gather eggs every evening so none are in the nest longer than 24 hours. Will these eggs still be good to hatch in an incubator after being cold?

I do not hatch chicks myself,, so not speaking from experience. But I do read a lot of articles. I know that peeps did hatch out chicks from store purchased eggs from Trader Joe's. They sell free-range eggs that some are fertile. Trader Joe's keeps their eggs refrigerated in their stores.
Hoping that this puts some perspective on your eggs being hatchable.
Also consider the fact that peeps ship eggs for hatching via postal service. I'm sure those may encounter cold temperatures during some portions of the travel. I know that shipped eggs do have hatching challenges, compared to non-shipped. That may be due to many factors,,, including rough journeys, and air sack detachments.

I artificially incubate eggs with some (alarming?) frequency. Eggs that have been at 32 degrees for a period of time may have problems if you attempt to incubate them, primarily because there really isn't a good way to gradually bring them up to the temperature of the incubator, so they may have condensation on them (even from bringing them into a heated home). I think this would be the biggest risk with the eggs - bringing them into a heated environment where they warm up too quickly.

It would be interesting and informative to see what your results are with the eggs you collected from a "cold" coop. I think at least some could hatch, with viability decreasing as temps decrease.

I think refrigerated eggs are typically around 40 degrees, and while they can hatch, it's not optimal for egg storage, which should be closer to 50-60 (and there's a range of opinions on this) degrees.

Question; Is egg fertile?? translation,,,, do you have a rooster in your flock?? and is this your first egg??
Generally,, when pullets just start to lay eggs , they usually are not fertile. Another suggestion, and common advice,, hatch eggs from older established layers. Choose largest eggs possible. I know peeps do incubate, and hatch out small pullet eggs. Many experienced chicken keepers advise against such.

Thanks for the information! The hen that laid it is a year old and is an austrolorp. I have been doing chickens for almost two years now but this is my first time hatching.

I have some eggs developing in the incubator, and most of them were laid when the temperature dipped down to about freezing. I kept them in an egg carton in the house before putting them in the incubator. So apparently, 32 degrees isn't a killer for eggs.

Click on lower left corner, where it says Attach files,,, choose image,, and click open in your file folder.

Or click on the Blue highlighted icon, and a drop box appears.
