Will guinea lay eggs and sit on them if they are kept in a pen and not free range?

I AM NEW TO RAISING GUINEAS, BUT I HAVE ONE LAYING NOW THAT IS KEPT PENNED. SHE DOES NOT LAY IN THE NESTS I HAVE MADE FOR HER, BUT SHE SCRATCHED OUT A BOWL SHAPED HOLE IN THE GROUND AND NOW HAS 11 EGGS IN IT.

We have one who goes to the pen every day and lays her egg with the chickens.

Yes they will lay if kept penned, but they may or may not brood them, the same with free range.
