Will he ever figure it out??

I have a pair of Cayugas. They are aprox. 7 months old. The duck will float flat on the water while the drake will bite her head but never mounts. He just swims next to her biting her head. She's just laying flat waiting. Will he figure it out eventually? About what age will my duck start laying?

My rooster was like that. He finally figured it out. The poor hens look a bit bald though!

I'm not sure about ducks but I'd guess he'll figure it out.

My drake Tweak was doing the same thing. It took him a couple of months after the girls started flirting with him for the bonehead to figure out what he was supposed to do about it
