Will heat lamp light kill my mealworm colony?

I'm raising a mealworm colony and understand that heat will help reproduction. I would like to use a heat lamp to provide extra heat since I'm keeping them in my semi cool basement for the winter. Since direct sunlight will kill them, will the light from the heat lamp harm them as well? Thanks in advance for any help!!

I think as long as u give them objects to crawl under and stay in the dark that will be fine. maybe some newspaper laid flat accross over the worms
