What happends when I go on vaction, a week away from the homestead.

Either a neighbor or someone that you know that is looking for a bit of a vacation away from their home, I've house sat for people before like that. Spent a beautiful week on a lake in my area just to take care of the cat (that ended up getting attacked by the neighbors Airedale...a doctor no less

) oh, and the cat had a pant full of stitches, but came back to its home with me and no, he didn't go out again. (call me Murphy)
But all in all, you can find someone - not me, to come in and watch your critters while your away.
(although I would recommend that you hang out where you are for now with all the

Ha, don't want no body at my house!

I just moved from town, my driveway is 1/2 mile long off a dirt road. If youre on my property, you will be shot! (ok, ok, one warning shot)

I do have some nice folk around me that would, I just wouldn't want to impose.

I have a network of teenagers who are regular church goers, trustworthy, and upstanding in their communities. preferably unable to drive. They housesit for us. well, singularly, not all together at the same time.

Ain't you knowed it? They invented swine flu so you could stay home with the chickens instead!

Swine Flu is limiting travel to mexico anyway.... meanwhile find a trustworthy neighbor and return the favor sometime.
