For two days the eggs should be fine when you return. There are concerns though. Leaving eggs in nesting boxes could possibly result in broken eggs and egg eating. What's your weather like? Eggs left in temperatures above 80 tend to spoil quickly; just how quickly I am not sure.

93 during the heat of the day low at 68. I might be able to have my husband grandmother pick them up for me but not sure to be honest. But i am in need of this mini vaction, this will be the last time i can go down until after i give birth as i am mildly high risk (been having contraction and tend to dilate early) i am due in decemeber and with a two year old and a baby i going to need to have a mental break before i get closer lol.

I guess my advice is to collect the eggs when you get back then boil them up and serve them back to the hens; hopefully we're not talking dozens of eggs. I would not want to eat an egg that had been sitting in 93 degrees for any length of time.

I plan on collecting thursday mornings so it should be eight eggs we lose

other wise we would lose 12 maybe i can talk his grandma who lives next door in to it. Sighs i prefer not to lose those since we dont buy eggs and it saves us quite abit in grocery bill. We use five to six eggs for breakfast alone so eggs get up there for us.
