Will lavender plants solve the fly issue?

Hello. Will placing a lot of lavender plants outside and around my chicken coop and run, help deter flies from entering the area?

I am planning to add thirteen lavender plants in pots around the perimeter of my chicken run.

I'm not sure I have never tried them. I use a spray in and around my coops to eliminate flies. I use permethrin. Some companies put it in ear tags for cattle to help control the flies. Good luck and have fun...
