Will lime hurt my flock

I want to lime my garden. will it be ok to let my chickens onto it. I would like to let them have the garden left overs.

You're using hydrated lime? I wait three hard rains or about a month for it to soak into the ground before I let my animals into it. Hydrated lime can burn.

Agricultural lime /garden lime is safe...its diff than hydrated lime and as long as it turned in the soil it wont hurt them.

I will be useing agricltural lime. I have 6 hens and use a moveable run so I will just lime around the run and then move it after a few good rains. I live in Oregon so should not have to wait very long.

Ag lime can be around chickens/livestock with no wait. There is no danger of burns with ag lime.
