Will moles eat baby chicks?

We have a really big chicken cook and a broody hen of ours hatched 4 eggs. I only ever saw one. By the time I got back outside with a box to put it in, it was gone. Is it possible that the mom ate them? Other chickens? We have mice and cats to eat them, but I think our mousers do a pretty thorough job of killing rats. Do moles eat chicks? What about snakes? This nest box is about four feet off the ground. Please help. Our broody hens want babies but I'm not sure if it's safe!

Of what you listed the cats or snakes are most likely. Last year I lost every single chick the cat next door. I have caught a snake under a hen with new hatches.
I dont think you need worry about the mole/s with chicks,,,
