My Black Swede last all her earlier eggs this spring due to her having laid them in an ash pit, and staying off the nest for long periods of time in cold weather. It's been two weeks since she gave up on the last nest of 18 rotten eggs. Can we expect her to try again soon? Many thanks!

My broody hen got broken-up when I tried moving her nest. She didn't set again for around a month, but she is broody again now, and I'm so excited! Its her first time.

It depends on your individual duck if they will or not.

Best of luck!

yes she will have another nest this summer. I have a femaleallard who killed most of her ducklings and I took the rest away and shes sitting again and its only been a month. the ducklings are doing well

Thanks for your replies- I'm hoping she starts again soon. WE have a bif plastic barrel, on it's side, that will make a good nest house. She's sleeeping in it continually, so this gives us hope. Wee also have plenty of hay/straw for her bedding too.
