Will my duckling be okay

I have a black Swedish duckling and its leg looks ok but when it walks it limps a tiny bit but it still runs over to eat and drink but it sleeps a lot but still acts like a duckling

How old is the duckling? Some napping is normal. What is their bedding?

Could be an infection at the early stages, could be an injury. Keep an eye on it, take a close look at the foot and leg, all the way up the leg. If it came with a leg band, has that been removed?

Its 3 weeks old. Straw. There was no band. And both legs look both the same.

Could be a sprain - that can happen. Does the duckling get bath time (no soap)? That may be the best therapy at this point. Keep watch. Sprains can take days to resolve. In the tub, watch how the leg moves. And I would be giving vitamins in the water once a week.

yes he gets bath time. but when he walks his right leg just he doesnt like putting pressure butn i think its a sprain bc if it was broken he wouldnt waklk around butb he runs around and jumps to the water dish but all i know is thaat he limps

Keep checking -sometimes there are small wounds we cannot see at first and they can get infected. You could try an Epsom salt compress (E.s. is a laxative, do not let him get into it). A compress is a clean cloth dipped in Epsom salt and water. Wrap the entire leg for a few minutes, holding the duck. Try that for three days and see if there is improvement.

well today i went out to check on her and i was like well i better look and see if ther is any swelong. i looked and on her right foot on her middle toe it was swelled up in the back and there was a white soot on it. so i took it inside and my mom got her tweezers and we pulled this thing out and it almost looked like a little branch but we dont kniow but after that i washed her foot with soap and water andwe puy antibiotcs on it and of right now she is happier and runs around,. her foot is still a little soar but we are putting antibiotics on her every 6 hours and it must be helping soo im happy that shes feeling betyter.
