Will my geese destroy my lilacs and burning bushes (and are they toxic?)

Thinking of expanding their pen to include an area of my yard that has a couple of these bushes. My ducks lived in that area for years with those bushes and no problems. But , you know, geese...

My geese don't touch the lilacs but they are not in the run. I wouldn't trust the geese with anything green.

You might be okay or you might not, mine have left alone some bushes while they've destroyed others. How established are the plants?

I put chicken wire/short fencing around the base of anything they've picked at and that seems to be enough of a deterrent.
