Hello, a local farm received 100 rescue chickens and was selling them they day after they were received at his farm so i decided to get a "few" because I felt bad for the chickens and i wanted to give them a good home and what they deserve... Well anyway i ended up getting 30....oops?? They were free so it didnt cost me a dime! I began talking to the farmer and told me that the load i got (they all were in different trailers so i just took the whole trailer) were brutally starved and in very discusting confinements, i didnt want to trade them in for a different trailer because i felt bad because they were the worst batch so i decided to keep them, well I've had them for about a month now with no eggs... Do you think i will ever get eggs?? I really want them to produce some just for my homestead...there all the same age and they will be turning one year in June and they are red sex links
Thanks everyone and bless you all!

I have a rescued hen. The first few months of her life was lived out in a cardboard box, no sunlight, and only bread to eat. I took her some time to lay eggs, but in that time I had to train her out of lots of bad habits
She's now 2 years old and I get an egg from her every other day
