Will Runner Ducks & Regular Ducks Interbreed?

I want to add some runner ducks to my flock but I am worried they can interbreed with my Cayuga ducks? Which would be a problem for me because I want to keep them all pure of breed.

Oh yes they definitely will crossbred VERY readily.

All domestic ducks except muscovies are descended from mallards. That means they will interbreed very freely and all will be fully fertile. except for the crosses with muscovies, that results in mule ducks.

The well bred runners do look fantastic don't they? Used to know someone with show bred black runners, they were just beautiful and cool with way long necks and necks with the bolt upright stances..

Yes they do! When I get another house opened up, I plan to possibly get some!
