I am thinking of getting a couple Silkie chicks but I'm nervous about whether they will do ok with my flock. I currently have 2 BOs, 2 EEs, and 2 Isa Browns, and might also be getting a couple Marans. Any opinions?

they should be fine just make sure before you start to introduce them that they are about the same size...obviously silkies are bantams but make sure that if they have to they are big enough to stick up for them selves I would say 6-8 weeks you could start introducing them...unless you have a broody you could sneak the chicks under her one night and let her raise them with your current flock.

I integrate using a wire dog kennel inside the coop for 3 weeks before letting the new ones out. I'm looking for another kennel to transfer them into the run as well.

When I did this last year, the big girls were fine with them in the coop, but wouldn't let them in the run for a while.

It should work if you integrate slowly. It seems like forever, but really takes only 3 weeks. Make sure your silkies are full sized before letting them free with the big ones. I have some tough older ones. My EE and RIR. They may even have to go into time out if I see bullying.
