god i hate Texas...i have a home made incubator that has been maintaining a 99.5-101.1 temp until the weather changed outside...switching from chilly weather to hot.

i came in checked the incubator and it read 99.6 and turned the eggs at 10 or 11 am went back to check on the eggs at 4:50 and the temp was now 101.9 at the highest then began to sink...i recalibrated it...do you think it killed my eggs?

at most it will stay at the high temps (101.5-101.9) for 2-3 minutes then begin to gradually enter back to the lower desired settings.

humidity has remained constant at 41-43%

they were put in the incubator on the 4th...

you think the 101.9 killed your eggs? Um definitely not. ive hatched at 110 degrees before.

Your eggs are fine. Damage doesn't even really start until 104°, and for only short spikes eggs can survive higher then that. Slightly high temps. may cause slightly early hatches.

thank you i get so nervous when hatching eggs especially when i am so badly wanting them to hatch the last time i hatched i was incubating 3 eggs to test this incubator and it maintained just fine so i didnt get a scare. i was always told over 101 was a no no but thank you for the reassurances its made me less nervous i feel like i am watching the pot..
