Strawberry fields.
We recently hatched 3 Cortunix quail eggs - one of them died 2 days ago.

We've been taking them out about everyday, and they seem a bit scared of my hands.

I know they're a lot smaller than my hand, so they have a reason to be afraid, but will they ever become truly tame?

These quail were going to be producers of eggs that we could eat, and just lovable pets. Will they ever become tame enough to become our sweet little babies?

P.S. They're on day 7, and they already have pin feathers! In fact, when they were on the edge of my purse, (their little carrying bag to go outside) they flapped their cute widdle wings to balance themselves!

when we say friendly we mean eat out of your hands friendly. Most normal birds dont like to be held

I'd just start off with offering them to eat out of your hands. My friendliest coturnix dont want held

Also some color varieties are more skiddish than others.

Yes, mine don't like to be handled that much, but I would think if you handle them a lot they will at least get used to it. Mine are more of the eat out of your hand type (or eat your hand, depending on how fast you fill their dish!!). But I don't think any of mine are actually skittish, even my buttons. They just don't want to be touched. Now my jumbo browns usually get pushed out of the way when I'm trying to get their eggs, but picking them up is another story!
