Lately I had a run of scaly leg mites on my chickens. I've been treating their legs with vaseline and it's nearly gone. But when they preen they get the goop all over themselves. Am I right in thinking that once they start dustbathing in very dry dirt they'll get rid of the vaseline? Eventually?
