Will they live?

I was candling an egg yesterday that has been in the keeping of my broody hen Betsy for about 2 or 3 weeks. I was very excited to see the chick move by itself inside the egg! but I accidentaly dropped the egg on my carpet. The egg didn't break open but it cracked a little. Will this kill the chick?

Try to seal the crack with wax. If bacteria do not enter the egg, it may very well hatch.

I've used white, unscented candle wax as well as clear nail polish. Had success with both.
