Hi!
I just recieved 9 call duck eggs in the mail today. They shipped on the 30th and just got here a few hours ago. Five days in the mail seems like a long time. I put them in the bator, but will they still hatch? Also, one egg had a indented circular crack about the size of a marble. Should i throw this one away?
Thanks

I tape my cracked eggs. You should still get a good hatch, it normally takes 7 days to get eggs up here! I don't get as good of hatchs but still fair! Good luck!

Thanks, that is reassuring. Anybody else?

I used wax to cover a hole on a cracked chicken egg and I glooped it on thick. Tomorrow is lockdown and so far the little chick is developing normally, I'm glad I didn't throw it out!

I've set eggs that were 14 days old and had a 75% hatch rate. Yes, they were shipped eggs and why the PO took 10 to deliver them 3 states away using priority shipping was beyond me. I personally have never had any luck with cracked eggs, but I'd give it a shot, lots of others have had success and you've got nothing to lose. If it starts to smell get it out of the bator ASAP.
