Will this be safe enough for my chicks?

We "finished" building our coop today. We are placing it in the bottom of our barn. We have barn swallows in there, which we want to keep, due to their bug eating abilities.

We left the space between the rafters for them to fly in and out, and also a space above one of the doors. My only concern then I guess is wether this will be too enticing to a predator.

looks like it would work except I would put 2 layers of fencing on.

Might want to cover the top of the chickens area to stop any predators and to keep the wild birds away from the chicks to help prevent picking up any diseases from the swallows.
