I have read threads on wormers where other folks sing the praises of valbazen as an all around good wormer for chickens. Im wondering, is it also effective when treating gape worm? I tried fenbenzadole (safe-guard for puppies) on a hen I suspect of having gape and she just died. I may have started treatment too late. In any case, Im wondering what wormer I should purchase to have on hand in case my chickens show signs of gape or any other type of internal parasites.
Thank you all for any advice and suggestions.

Thank you, Ive read it. I tried using Fenbenzadole without success. That is not to say it would not have worked had I started treatment in time. Im just wondering now what I should purchase in volume to have on hand. I want a broad-spectrum wormer but also one that treats for gape worm should this problem develop again and Ill be prepared to start treatment.

The best wormer on the market is valbazen, it kills all known worms chickens can get. For suspected gapeworm you could follow Covey Rise Plantation's example and withhold their feed for 1-2 days then give them a higher dose of valbazen, probably 1cc for a standard size bird vs the 1/2cc normally given to a standard size bird. Then redose again in 3 days, then another final dose 3 days later.
