How much light does my coop need to have? Im cutting out spaces for windows sized 8x10 inches and was wondering how many I should have?

Chickens are very photosensitive as it pertains to their daily functions. Take that for what it's worth.

How big is your coop? If it is 4x4, two or three windows would suffice. If it is 20x80, you'll need a few more. Scale is important.

the coop is 4x8 feet, will a 8x10 inch window on each side be enough? Im still trying to figure out where to put everything and is it ok to have the roosts in front of the window? i was a little worried they would be in a draft come winter... should have just built bigger!! LOL wonder where Ive heard that before

My girls love their window in front of the roost! I keep the window open in the summer and warm part of fall. A few of the girls will return to the coop 15 minutes or so before the others - I think they are trying to get the coveted window seat:p If it is closed in cold weather, their won't be a draft. Your ventilation should be above your birds.
