Wine Cooler Incubator project

Hi guys! It's been a while, but I'm back (for those of you who remember me). I have a new project...

I picked up a wine cooler today off of CL for $15! Yes, it still works and I know that may upset a few of you that I am dismantling a perfectly good wine cooler, but 1) I'm mormon and don't drink and 2) It was $15!!!! for an incubator with a full glass door!

It is a larger one that holds around 26 bottles, so I will have lots of room to build a egg turner and racks for the eggs. It's about 3 feet tall and 18" wide and deep.

My other bator is the styrofoam worm box kind and I'm ready to upgrade. Who knew a $15 find on CL could get me so excited for a new project!!!

That looks like it would make a GREAT INCUBATOR!

But, you could save a lot of effort and some expense IF you could find a WINO "chicken-rancher". You could probably swap the wine-cooler for a factory-made big incubator!!!!

Ha-Ha!

Good Luck with your project. I'll bet it turns out GOOD!

Too late... I already ripped out the guts! I'm not what people would refer to as a patient person! HeHe...

We are on our way to a new incubator! I'm going to Home Depot tonight to get a thermostat, wire mesh, wood and bolts. Fun...Fun....

At first, I wondered why you would be incubating wine coolers.

I made one from an 8 bottle wine cooler and I LOVE IT.

It so rocks, with the fan/s that come with it and the high insulation it's a very easy set up!!! I love mine. I want a bigger one... I hit craigslist often looking for broken ones. And Freecycles too! I'll find another yet.

You'll just love how well it holds temp and the EASY access after a foam bator. I did.

I would love to find a wine cooler for egg storage, already have a couple incubators. It would be nice to get the bottom produce bins back from my fridge. Besides they do not hold enough eggs.

Am brand new to this whole chicken thing but I'm loving building this bator.

I store my eggs in my wine cooler and have had Great hatches...Never thought of an incubator does your egg turner fit in it...
I think its a great idea nice double pain glass door and a little light..Perfect show lots of pics very interested to see how it works out for you...

Wow what a great wine cooler, I am a big wine drinker and this effort of yours makes me want to cry LOL. But you could not have found a better box to work with for this project good luck. still crying.
