hey all!
I just clipped the left wings of my four Egyptian Fayoumis hens. they are about 5 months old, and I used the diagram provided on this site. Earlier today i found one of them on the roof of my house!!! I clipped the flight feathers (probably 8, not 10 per bird), but I clipped them rather long, as I was concerned about bleeding. No one bled. So, will this really prevent further flight? How high can they "jump"? I need them to be contained inside a 6' fence. They are EXTREMELY "athletic" (fast, flighty, etc...) Should this do the trick in containing them to my back yard? Anyone out there with fayoumis who can tell me of their experience?
Thanks
Monica
