It's been about 4 months and I had the first predator attack on my flock. Nine of the ten chickens got away unscathed, but one sustained a right wing injury. There is a bite or just an injury where the feathers have been plucked from the right shoulder. She isn't very sensitive to me looking at it, or pushing the feathers aside but it definitely looks raw and it looks like it's down to cartilage. These are our first hens, so I'm not sure what to do to help or if it will heal pretty easily. I attached a couple pictures. She doesn't seem to be using the injured wing at all, which makes sense. Any help on the situation would be appreciated. I'm not quite sure what to do. Thanks!

I would clean it up with Hibiclens, betadine , or just plain dishwashing soap and water. Then apply an ointment such as neosporin or polysporin ointment. If you can get some Blu Kote spray, it is an antiseptic that coats the wound blue so that it doesn't get pecked. Isolate her in a dog crate with some food and water. Scrambled chopped eggs or wet feed make it more appealing for her to get some extra protein. She should heal fine.

Thanks! I'll look for some Blue Kote spray this afternoon to help her out. She's still laying, so it doesn't seem to be all that awful. I just don't want it to turn for the worse.
