winter food plot

I am using a winter food plot mix containing ryegrass, oats, peas, and clover in my garden area this fall and winter for my RIR's and was wondering if it was safe to use a regular fertilizer such as 10-10-10 or triple 13 when planting? Thanks

It is safe to, but the fertilizer is granular, so you will need to water it in. Otherwise the chickens will think it is food!
