Hi,

A winter freeze is coming and it'll be 13* F

Will my chickens be okay? They are 10 weeks old. Barred Rock, gold laced wyandotte, blue laced wyandotte and easter eggers.

If they're fully feathered and the coop isn't drafty then they should be fine. It's gotten into the 20s here though my chicks are a few weeks older and they've been okay. They huddle in the corner at first but now huddle on the roost. Many people on this site have had younger or similar aged chicks in the same type of weather. Chickens are pretty resilient

How many birds?
I assume they've been out in the coop 24/7 for at least a month?
I'd strongly suggest putting and temp and humidity gauge in your coop to monitor both.

Is that an overnight low, with or without wind chill?

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

It looks like you have a ridge vent and lots of ventilation under the overhangs. I don't see anything that would allow a breeze to blow directly on them but I can't see your entire coop. I'd allow 6-week-olds of those breeds to stay out in that with overnight lows of 13 F (-11 C)

It has been in the negative 20s here and my chickens have did all right. My brahma was actually finishing up her molt.

I lock my chickens in the coop when the weather is suppose to be bad like it is going to be tonight. But also when it is below 10. But I have to pick them up sometimes and take them in.
