Because I’m not allowed to have anymore dogs right now and dog sports slow way down in the winter (my usual hobby)… and I have drakes in my flock of ducks…
I’m hoping to get some cute mixes breed ducklings in a few weeks. Learning a lot from this forum as well as hatchery websites since I’ve never done anything like this before.

What breeds do you have? Be sure to keep us updated on eveything.
Drakes:
Mallard
Magpie (favorite)
Fawn/White Runner

Laying Ladies:
Blue Swedish (favorite)
Blue Runner? (Color of runner but does not stand like runner)
Mallard
Fawn/White Runner
Crested White Layer or something
Pekin or White Layer

(And some young GIANT pekins that aren't quite breeding age or laying age yet so shouldn't be in the mix for the eggs.)

All of our ducks are from RK/TS and supposedly came from Hoover Hatchery.

We are super excited to see what they look like, hoping at least a few hatch but trying to be realistic since we've never done this before. We thought about ordering ducklings from a hatchery but couldn't find any that had magpies... and we love our magpie. Also realized we really like our existing flock so wanted to continue that.

My foundation drake is fawn and white. I get the most lovely Forrest Gump children from him. Its so exciting.
I’m hoping at least some eggs will hatch. Im so curious what they will look like. We LOVE our original group (the drakes and laying ladies) so decided to try to hatch their eggs instead of ordering more ducklings.
