Hello, I am new to BYC, but this site has helped me so much this last year with my girls. I have three large hens and three silkies. In the summer my 2 buff silkies(Mango and bambi) have slept in the lower coop, but now that its getting colder here in Utah bambi has moved up with the big girls. Mango is very stubborn and still wants to sleep in the lower coop. I worry as the temps. get lower she may freeze. The lower coop is covered, has some insulation and lots of straw and grass, there is a plastic bin where everyone lays their eggs, which has lots of straw, grass and leaves, that's where she sleeps . Should I give her a blanket and let her stay there? Or Force her up with everyone else?
Thanks,

Thanks for getting back to me. I have 2 roost, higher for the big girls and a lower one for my silkies. Only 1 of my silkies will rooster. One of my big girls sleeps in the box with the other 2 silkies, mango doesn't like it, but I will force her so she stays warm.
