winter laying

Has anybody had any luck with getting there guineas to lay during the winter? & if so, how?

Guineas are seasonal layers (spring thru fall), but some do extend the season by providing extra "daylight" hours with artificial lighting (full spectrum I think), and also regulating the temps in the coops. You may be able to keep them laying longer in the fall or get them to start sooner in the spring, but typically once they have quit for the year, they don't start up again, especially in the winter.

I knew all the ones I had before stopped completely, but I'd never tried anything to encourage them, sounds like it takes a lot of effort with little success. I may try and add some light come February and see if that jump starts them a little, thanks for the info
