I do extra light, 13 hours, with a timer, and a full spectrum fluorescent bulb (Vote to all that apply)

I voted 12 hours, because that is what they get now for "added lighting".

Of course, in summer it extends a bit beyond that (natural lighting), but in winter, they have a flourescent light on in the coop when I open coops in the morning, until I close them up at night - which is to say from about 8 AM til 7:30 or 8 PM.

The only light my chickens get is what Mother Nature supplies them with.
 
12 hrs total light ~ with the help of a timer. If I didnt the girls would be down to just a handful of light per day in the deepest part of winter.
