I love ur thought to not eat them
Let them live happily
Not much things u required in winter if they have fully featherd they manage on their own
Their feathers are like blanket they barely feel cold
But if you are so curious like me
I use to put blanket in my chicken home (just only in their non feathers day now they manage well)
Turkeys need a sheltered place to roost out of the wind, shade from the sun, feed and water. We were thinking of a blanket! Thank you! I just want to make sure I’m giving them what they need.
Thank you!! We have a wood coup and we keep some bedding in there. They typically like to stay under our porch behind the fire wood. We will be getting some bushes and they have constant water and food. They are some tuff animals.Turkeys need a sheltered place to roost out of the wind, shade from the sun, feed and water.
They do not require a heated coop or a blanket. Providing a heated coop prevents their bodies from growing the feathers and fat that protect them from the cold.
My turkeys roost outside all winter long in a place that is sheltered from the wind. They have not had any problems with our winters that get to -30°F.
